Laid Back Luxury

We Believe That a Personal Touch Still Matters

In a world of increasing automation, AI technology, and anonymity in the hospitality industry, the Vacay brand represents an old-fashioned personal touch. We value concierge-style service and boutique vacation experiences, wrapped in the laid back local culture we call home. We call it laid back luxury, and we think you’ll enjoy it too.

While we’re constantly investing in all the modern technology that makes your experience effortless, we ultimately measure success not just in dollars and cents, but by the personal partnerships we develop with our owners and guests. Locally owned and operated in Whitefish, Montana, Vacay has been serving the Flathead Valley since 2018.

Matt Bashara

Vacay Whitefish Owner

Matt and his wife Stephanie’s journey to Montana began years ago with a visit that quickly turned into something more—a deep connection to the landscape, the community, and the lifestyle that makes this place so special. What started as a love for the mountains, lakes, and wide-open spaces ultimately became a decision to build both a life and a business here in the heart of Northwest Montana.

With a long-standing background in property management and hospitality, Matt has developed a reputation for combining operational expertise with a genuine passion for guest experience. His approach is rooted in attention to detail, proactive communication, and a commitment to treating every home as if it were his own. From maximizing revenue performance to ensuring every guest stay is seamless and memorable, Matt brings a high level of care and professionalism to everything he does.

Outside of work, Matt is a dedicated family man. He and Stephanie are raising their five kids in the very environment that first inspired them—surrounded by nature, adventure, and a strong sense of community. Whether it’s skiing, hiking, fishing, or simply enjoying time outdoors, the family embraces the Montana lifestyle to the fullest. Their home is also shared with a dog and two cats, adding a little extra energy and personality to everyday life.

Together, Matt and Stephanie have built their business around the same values they live by—integrity, hospitality, and a genuine love for helping others experience the best of Montana.

Eric Martin

Maintenance Manager

As Maintenance Manager at Vacay Whitefish, Eric delivers a refined standard of care backed by years of dedicated service. With a sharp eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem solving, he ensures each property is maintained with precision, discretion, and consistency, reflecting the expectations of a high end vacation experience.

Deeply rooted in Montana, Eric and his family are proud to be active members of their community, contributing their time and energy to the place they call home. Alongside his wife, Sarah, and their two young boys, he embraces the lifestyle and values that make the Flathead Valley so exceptional. In his spare time you can find him somewhere in northwest Montana, paddling quiet lakes by kayak or running rivers by raft, always in search of the next great campsite.

Closer to home, you will find him on the sidelines of the field cheering on his youngest or in the yard dialing in football throws with his boys.

Cassi Heaton

Housekeeping Manager

Cassi brings the kind of energy you can’t really train for. The kind that notices the little things, steps in before anyone asks, and somehow still shows up smiling after a long day. As Housekeeping Manager at Vacay, she has built a reputation for exceeding expectations, leading with heart, and caring for every property as if it belonged to family. Around here, “good enough” simply isn’t in her vocabulary.

Raised in the Flathead Valley, Cassi has spent years building strong roots in both her business and her community. Before partnering with Vacay Whitefish, she created and grew her own independent cleaning company, earning trust throughout residential, construction, and vacation rental spaces through hard work, consistency, and elevated standards that clients quickly came to rely on. Outside of work, Cassi is the person you’ll see cheering in the stands at local sporting events, supporting community fundraisers, celebrating academic achievements, donating when she can, and showing up for people simply because it matters to her. She gives a lot of herself to others, often quietly and without recognition, which is exactly what makes her so special.

She’s also a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, outdoorswoman, crafter, trail explorer, and likely the reason everyone else suddenly feels underprepared. No matter what Cassi is doing, she brings the same care, pride, and intention to life that she brings to her work — and Vacay is happy to have her.
