What areas of Northwest Montana does Vacay serve?
Vacay manages private vacation rentals across the Flathead Valley and surrounding region, including Whitefish, Whitefish Mountain Resort (Big Mountain), Bigfork, Columbia Falls, Bison Ridge Retreat, Glacier National Park gateway communities, Flathead Lake waterfront properties, The Quarry, and Polson. Whether you’re looking for a ski-in/ski-out condo, a lakefront cabin, or a secluded mountain retreat, we have properties across northwest Montana’s most popular destinations.
What's the best time of year to visit northwest Montana?
Northwest Montana is a true four-season destination. Winter (December–March) is prime ski season at Whitefish Mountain Resort, with excellent snow and fewer crowds than many western resorts. Summer (June–August) is peak season for Glacier National Park, Flathead Lake, and outdoor recreation. Shoulder seasons — May and September/October — offer mild weather, lower rates, and a more peaceful experience. Fall foliage in the Flathead Valley is spectacular.
How is booking directly with Vacay different from Airbnb or VRBO?
When you book directly with Vacay, you skip the 12–15% platform fees charged by Airbnb and VRBO — which means better rates for you. You also get direct access to our local Whitefish team for trip planning, property questions, and concierge support. We offer flexible direct booking, transparent pricing, and the kind of personalized service that large platforms can’t match.
Are your properties pet-friendly?
Many of our northwest Montana vacation rentals are pet-friendly. Each property listing specifies its pet policy, including any breed/size restrictions and pet fees. If finding a pet-friendly cabin or home is a priority, filter by pet-friendly when browsing or contact our team directly — we’ll match you with the right property.
How close are your properties to Glacier National Park?
It depends on the property. Our Columbia Falls and West Glacier rentals are the closest to the park’s west entrance — many are within 10–20 minutes. Whitefish properties are typically 30–40 minutes from the park. Bigfork and Polson are great bases for the lake and southern Glacier access. Filter by location when you search, or contact us and we’ll point you to the properties best suited for a Glacier-focused trip.
